Wide width gives plenty of room for my bunion with no pinching. The velcro closure secures my heel in place. Very comfortable for casual days even with lots of walking.

Wide is Narrow

Got the 2-tone brown in 6W. I couldn't even get my foot half way in the shoe, so I don't know if the 6 length was correct. Most definitely, the W is too narrow! Plus the sheen of the leather makes the shoe look '60's stiff. Could be okay if you a narrow wide looking for a retro look. Me, I'm returning.
