New Balance KV624 comfortable but cheaply made

THese shoes are just OK. I purchased them because my sons need uniform shoes and the options were slim. i have worn New Balance athletic shoes before with no problem at all. Therefore I felt they would be a smart purchase for my sons. They found the shoes to be comfortable but could not stand up to my 8yr old. The threads were always hanging and the velcor straps had to be reglued. the front of the shoe where the toe is had started to peel apart. My 11 yr old did not experience any defects at all? I have since reordered these same schools to be worn for the next 5 months. I am assuming that the first pair was defected?

Love these shoes that 4 months later I am back to get one size bigger for my 6 year old. The shoes that I have bought in past would rip from the toe box area as my son loves to go hiking and collect rocks. These shoes were a pleasant surprise as he has outgrown them and they still look like new.

New Balance KX624 Good Kids Shoe

I purchased a pair of these shoes for each my two boys 10 & 6. They destroy cheap $15-type shoes from the big-box stores in a matter of a few months. Their last pairs of shoes were the KX623 model but since those became difficult to find, I tried buying the KX624. So far so good. Fit and quality appear similar. Construction is noticeably different in the toe area, but I don't see any problems with it yet. My kids say that the shoes are comfortable. No complaints wearing them full days at school, after-school activities, running around at home, or long walks with the dogs.
